Beyond Web 2.0Whilst web 2.0 is now in full swing with social connectivity tools, the community is looking for more dynamic ways to implement the power of collaboration. Organisations are continuing to focus their efforts on web 2.0 as consumers express concerns on forums, Twitter and other web 2.0 platforms. Similarly these organisations are using platforms like Twitter to increase operational performance and increase employee and consumer satisfaction.

The question begs to be asked, “what’s next?” Documentaries such as “Us Now” speculate that web 2.0’s mass collaboration will eventually infiltrate governmental decisions and influence the nation’s political and social structures. Whilst this cannot be discredited, especially since the extreme impact that mass collaboration has had on the enterprise, it will be some time before we see an entire government take a power shift and allow its digital users to govern the nation.  So are we expecting to see government 2.0.? – Possibly in a very minor way, but not anytime soon.
